Featuring Judith Miller

San Jose Stage Artistic Director - Randall King sits down with Judith Miller, both of whom are slated to appear in The Stage’s highly anticipated production of Tracy Letts’ August: Osage County. The duo will take on the boards as Beverly and Violet, the patriarch and matriarch of the Weston family. This will not be the first time the two have appeared together as the centerpiece of a family in crisis, both having portrayed Big Daddy and Big Mama in The Stage’s celebrated production of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. As a distinguished actor, Judith brings a unique perspective on our industry and insight into our conversations focused around the “New American Theatre”.

Judith has been an integral part of San Jose Stage’s success since our very first season and has continued to grace our stage for the past 39 years. Her legacy of work spans the Bay Area; she has appeared in over 24 productions with San Jose Stage alone. Other notable performances at The Stage include Big Mama in Tennessee Williams’ Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (2019), Halie in Sam Shepard’s Buried Child (2012), and Patsy Cline in Ted Swindley’s Always Patsy Cline (2009).
