ALLISON F. RICH as Cora in San Jose Stage’s World Premiere of THE POSTMAN ALWAYS RINGS TWICE

San Jose Stage Company is seeking members of our community who would be interested in becoming a Housing Sponsor to provide donated housing for artists participating in our current and upcoming seasons. The Stage is constantly working to expand our network of actors, directors, and designers and we are in need of more housing options for our out-of-town artists.

If you are interested in becoming a Housing Sponsor, please note that The Stage is a 501c(3) nonprofit organization and you may be able to receive a tax deductible credit for your generosity. If your housing meets the below requirements please contact us via the form to let us know your interest. We thank you in advance for your support!

Requirements

  • Private Bedroom

  • Private or semi-private bathroom with shower

  • Parking spot

  • Kitchen access and space for food storage (Note: it is not necessary to provide meals to artists)

Things to Consider

  • Production rehearsals and performances generally last anywhere from 6 to 10 weeks depending on the show. Actors are needed for the entire rehearsal and performance process, but directors and designers are generally only needed for the rehearsal period (3 to 4 weeks).

  • Artists are responsible for their own food and transportation.

  • It is not necessary for you to be home while hosting, the artist can house-sit while you travel.

  • The Stage is a non-profit organization and you may be able to receive a tax write-off for being a Housing Sponsor.

  • The following artists were only able to create theatre at The Stage due to the generosity of incredible Housing Sponsors in the past:  Allison F. Rich*, Rob August*, David Corris, etc….
